DIAKONIA 2026 VOLUME 1
Students Learning and Support Programme” (SLS)
This is a community care initiative jointly organized by the Seremban Gospel Chapel (English and Chinese Assemblies). Our mission is to reach out to underprivileged children and vulnerable families through education. Over the past 18 years of this journey, we have much to thank God for, particularly in these areas:
- Leading Children and Parents to Christ
The program has allowed the church to connect with approximately 500 students—ranging from kindergarten to secondary school—and share the Gospel with them. We have witnessed beautiful testimonies where children first accepted Christ, followed by their parents joining the church. Currently, out of our 70 church members, half of them were reached through this program.
- Nurturing Generations of Ministers
Through this Students Learning and Support Programme, many have come to faith and been nurtured into full-time ministry. We have four special testimonies of this legacy
In 1992, the Kajang Life Chapel sent the couple to assist the Chinese Assembly of Seremban Gospel Chapel. After receiving theological training in Taiwan from 1994 to 1997, they returned to serve full-time for nearly 30 years. They initiated the Students Learning and Support Programme in 2009.
Led to Christ in 1992 by her brother, Elder Phang, Pastor Chui Cum entered full-time ministry in 2006 and has served faithfully for 20 years. Currently, she oversees the Students Learning and Support Programme for primary school students. Her ministry includes home visitations and reaching out to the local Burmese diaspora community (children and youth) through the educational framework of the assistance program.
Pastor James Wong came to Seremban from Bintulu, Sarawak in 2007 to pursue an external degree from UUM. In January 2009, he began a three-month internship at the church and stayed on as a full-time staff afterward. In 2014, he enrolled in the Malaysia Bible Seminary (MBS) for theological training. Upon graduation in 2016, he returned to Seremban to prepare for a church plant in Rasah Jaya. In 2017, the church officially commissioned Pastor James Wong and his family to pioneer the work in Rasah Jaya.
Pastor KC Wong joined our Students Learning and Support Programme in 2008 at the age of 13, following a recommendation from his primary school counselor. He accepted Christ that same year. After studying at UPM from 2016 to 2019, he joined the church as a full-time staff in 2020. In 2024, he was ordained as a Pastor. He is currently responsible for the secondary school division of this program, as well as the development of youth and young adult ministries.
Jackson joined our Students Learning and Support Programme at the age of 9, following a recommendation from his primary school teacher. He is currently in a season of prayer and discernment, seeking the Lord’s guidance on whether he is called to step into the path of full-time ministry.
- Church Planting
In 2017, the church officially commissioned Pastor James Wong and his family to pioneer a church plant in Rasah Jaya Seremban. As of 2026, the Rasah Gospel Hall (Chinese Assembly) has been faithfully established and growing for 10 years.

- Supporting Other Churches
Since last year, our tuition resources and operational model have successfully assisted the Chinese Assemblies of Gospel Halls in Jasin, Serdang, and Ampang. They are now using this same approach as an effective tool for evangelism in their own communities.
- Diaspora Ministry
i. Evangelism and Discipleship
Since September 6th of last year, Students Learning and Support Programme has begun its journey in Diaspora Missions under the supervision of Dr. Chua Thiam Seng.
We currently have 34 students. We offer Oxford English conversation classes, computer classes, board games, and Captain Ball.
Our primary mission is to share the Gospel with these children, leading them through Bible studies and discipleship training.
This ministry takes place every Saturday from 3:30 pm to 6:15 pm at the Seremban Gospel Chapel and the Youth Centre.
