The name was changed to Christian \u00a0Brethren of Malaysia Property Trust Berhad \u00a0(Trust) on 15th April 1966. It was also \u00a0resolved at a meeting of Directors of the Trust \u00a0held at Elim, Ipoh on 29th September 1962 \u00a0that all the directors and each new Director \u00a0shall subscribe to a Statement of Doctrines \u00a0and Practices. Any Director of the Trust who \u00a0withdraws from assembly fellowship for \u00a0reasons of disagreement with the Doctrines \u00a0and Practices held by the assemblies or any \u00a0Director who has been excluded from \u00a0assembly fellowship under discipline instituted \u00a0by the assembly concerned shall be called \u00a0upon immediately to retire\/resign as a \u00a0Director.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>OBJECTIVES <\/strong>\u00a0<\/p><p>The primary objective of the formation of the \u00a0Trust was:- \u00a0<\/p><ol><li>To take over as trustees all those properties previously held by Stewards Company Limited of the United Kingdom and to enable other \u00a0properties to be vested in the Trust. \u00a0<\/li><li>To help the local assembly to safeguard their property.<\/li><li>To deal with officialdom on matters related to land ownership.<\/li><li>To ensure that the properties vested in the Trust be used for the furtherance of the Gospel and the teaching of the Word of God. \u00a0<\/li><\/ol><p><strong>TITLE DEEDS <\/strong>\u00a0<\/p><p>There are at present 113 titles lodged with the \u00a0Trust. Some properties are in the process of \u00a0transfer to the Trust while a few others have \u00a0just been purchased. There are also a few \u00a0assemblies whose properties are in the name \u00a0of the Trust but have not submitted the \u00a0property titles to the Trust for safe keeping. All \u00a0assemblies \u00a0are \u00a0responsible \u00a0for \u00a0the \u00a0maintenance, management and upkeep of \u00a0their individual properties which are vested in \u00a0the Trust. This includes ensuring adequate \u00a0insurance is taken to cover the property for \u00a0fire and flood, paying the yearly quit rents and \u00a0assessments. The Directors of the Trust are \u00a0not responsible for any financial obligations or \u00a0undertakings of any property vested in the \u00a0Trust.<\/p><p><strong>MANAGEMENT \u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>The affairs of the Trust are managed by a \u00a0Board of Directors. The representation on the \u00a0Board is as follows:- \u00a0<\/p><ul><li><em> Two directors representing the assemblies <\/em><em>in the northern region.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Two directors <\/em>\u00a0<em style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">representing the assemblies in the central <\/em><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">region.<\/em><\/li><li><em>Four <\/em><em>directors <\/em><em>representing <\/em>\u00a0<em>the <\/em>\u00a0<em>assemblies in the Klang Valley. <\/em><em style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0<\/em><em style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Two directors representing the Federal <\/em><em style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Territory of Kuala Lumpur.<\/em><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>MEMBERSHIP \u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>Assemblies who have properties vested in the \u00a0Trust can be members of the Trust. \u00a0Assemblies with a membership of less than \u00a050 can nominate one person to be a member. \u00a0Those with over 50 members can nominate \u00a0two. All assemblies who have properties in the \u00a0Trust contribute an annual sum to the Trust to \u00a0defray expenses. Assemblies with more than \u00a050 in their congregation contribute RM500 per \u00a0annum. Assemblies with less than 50 in their \u00a0congregation contribute RM150 per annum. \u00a0The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the \u00a0Trust is usually held in the month of June. The \u00a0attendance of members at the AGM is to \u00a0comply with the requirements of the \u00a0Companies Act, 2016 and to discuss or raise \u00a0matters related to their properties. \u00a0<\/p><p><strong>CONCLUSION \u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>The Trust operates purely as a registering \u00a0body and for all practical purposes the control \u00a0and care over each property registered in the \u00a0Trust&#8217;s name remains solely in the hands of \u00a0each respective Oversight wherein the \u00a0directors are merely the legal custodians of \u00a0the land titles. In addition, the directors are \u00a0entrusted with the sacred duty of drawing the \u00a0attention of any Oversight in the event their \u00a0property is being used for purposes that may \u00a0fall outside the scope of the Doctrines and \u00a0Practices subscribed to by all participating \u00a0assemblies. The Trust has no capital and \u00a0therefore is not in any position to make grants \u00a0or loans to assemblies to purchase or develop \u00a0properties. \u00a0Its expenses are met by \u00a0contributions from all participating assemblies.<\/p><p>In today&#8217;s complex world of legalities, we \u00a0firmly believe it is essential to have this central \u00a0registry, to protect the assemblies&#8217; property \u00a0rights now and in the future by having them \u00a0registered in a company that has a continuous \u00a0legal existence. It also provides a base for \u00a0uniting the assemblies in their outreach of the \u00a0gospel.
