Penang Easter Conference 2025 – The Triumphant Cross<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As in every year, the Penang Assemblies held<\/p>

their combined annual Easter Conference<\/p>

during the Easter weekend this year. As in the<\/p>

previous years, the Easter Conference was<\/p>

held at Burmah Road Gospel Centre attended<\/p>

by about 200 to 300 members of the<\/p>

assembly and public.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Each assembly takes their turn in organizing<\/p>

the Easter Conference and this year, it was<\/p>

the turn of Bukit Mertajam Gospel Centre<\/p>

(BMGC). The Conference is a three evenings<\/p>

event starting on Easter Friday and ending<\/p>

with Easter Sunday. Usually a baptism will be<\/p>

held on Sunday followed by a good dinner.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Every assembly in Penang does their part\u00a0either in presenting song items or preparation\u00a0of refreshments and of course the venue host\u00a0will also prepare the place for the meetings.<\/p>

This year, our brother Cheah Wing Choong\u00a0from Jalan Imbi Chapel was the speaker with\u00a0the theme the Triumphant Cross with the\u00a0sub-topics over the 3 evenings covering \u2013 The\u00a0Transcendent Christ, The Traumatic Christ\u00a0and the Triumphant Christ.<\/p>

The Annual Easter\u00a0 Conference has been a\u00a0good platform for evangelism, for the wider\u00a0assemblies to work together, for fellowship\u00a0and for the Word of God to be heard by many.<\/p>

Easter has come and gone and some things\u00a0to reflect on.\u00a0<\/p>

Firstly, something from Psalm 133:<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 How good and pleasant it is when God\u2019s <\/i>people live together in unity!<\/i><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 It is like precious oil poured on the head, <\/i>running down on the beard, <\/i><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 running down on <\/i>Aaron\u2019s beard, down on the collar of his robe. <\/i><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on <\/i>Mount Zion. <\/i><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0For there the Lord bestows his <\/i>blessing, even life forevermore. <\/i><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Though BMGC was the organizing committee,\u00a0we could not have done this without the help\u00a0and cooperation of all the other assemblies.\u00a0We are just too small to do something like\u00a0this. It was like precious oil to us and a\u00a0tremendous encouragement, to have brothers and sisters from the bigger assemblies to\u00a0come forward to do their part. And I believe\u00a0because of that, the Lord has blessed us in\u00a0some ways through the conference.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

One tough job of the Conference is finding a speaker. The speaker must be known by some, if not most, should not be controversial to any if possible and from a well-known origin, preferably. BMGC do not know a lot of people so in a way, a tall order for us. I think the Lord already thought of that long before we even get our act together. Last year through work in the STEM ministry, I landed up in Jalan Imbi Chapel. Through the course of events, I had a chance to meet the elders\u00a0there. Among them was brother Wing Choong. And when asked, it did not take him\u00a0long to agree to drive up north to share the\u00a0Lord\u2019s Word with us. And so, we had our\u00a0speaker. I am reminded of Paul\u2019s exhortation.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In 2 Corinthians 9:8<\/p>

\u00a0 “God is able to make all grace abound to you,<\/em> so that having all sufficiency in all things at all <\/em>times, you may abound in every good work.”<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

And so, we praise Him!!<\/p>

Three solid evenings with our attention\u00a0focused on Christ. How this is needed in this\u00a0day and age, where the presence of the Lord\u00a0and His voice is drowned by the glaring\u00a0visibility and loud cacophony of the world\u00a0competing to capture our attention. For 3\u00a0short evenings, we get to delight and meditate\u00a0on the One, and Only One (The Transcendent Christ), who through humility, even to the\u00a0cross, and obedience, even unto death (The\u00a0Traumatic Christ) dies for us and is now\u00a0seated at the right hand of the Father (The\u00a0Triumphant Christ). This, our brother Wing\u00a0Choong has brought to us so eloquently.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Post conference, I was pondering; \u201cwouldn\u2019t it\u00a0<\/i>be great if every now and again, the <\/i><\/p>

Assemblies come up in force, together, to do\u00a0<\/i>something to make some impact and catch <\/i><\/p>

the eyes of the community or even the <\/i>nation?\u201d\u00a0<\/i>As Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:16<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cIn the same way, let your light shine before\u00a0<\/em>others, that they may see your good deeds<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0and glorify your Father in heaven.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Perhaps, the Easter Conference achieved that in a small way. It might be worthwhile to consider how to amplify this cooperation to\u00a0increase the visibility of the Assembly for His\u00a0glory.<\/p>
